Modern Queenslander Build
Wooloowin is one of North Brisbane’s most connected suburbs. Convenient location, close to amenities and if you’re on a hill you’ll doubtless be privileged to breathtaking city views. One of Brisbane’s older suburbs Wooloowin lays claim to more than its fair share of heritage listed buildings – by all means, Wooloowin is an aspirational place to live and residents feel lucky to call the suburb home.
A light airy family home that pays tribute to one of Brisbane’s oldest suburbs. For anyone out there who loves a traditional Queenslander – there is something in this build that will certainly resonate.
Originally, Queenslander homes were built to make the most of the weather or avoid it as the case may be, this modern take on the traditional, likewise had to make the most of weather boons. Whether that was high ceilings to lift the warm air higher and make the most of any breeze or the ‘stumps’ which elevate the home making sure that air circulation cools the upper levels. But aside from practical and sustainable measures this home also had to tick any number of quality and stylish boxes, make the most of the narrow frontage and allow for uninterrupted light and views. Dayne and the team from Resi Homes again proving they were the equal of the task and again built on time and on budget.
A complete and complementary build that has become a light-filled, stunning place to call home. Glass balustrades allow for uninterrupted viewing from the deck overlooks the swimming pool. Walking through the sliding doors guests are met with an oversized kitchen, complete with resplendent tiled splashbacks – an entertainers dream. Large living spaces complete the feeling of openness creating a seamless and uninterrupted connection from the large verandah to the common areas. Living quarters remain privately accessible via the second stairwell upstairs.
The impressive large family bathroom, featuring custom tiled wall niche and clean slate tiling and that stunning Tasmanian Oak flooring throughout.
Narrow frontage, but the need for more space and multiple areas required a triple storey build, which required a high level of planning by both Dayne and our Resi Homes draftsmen. The result speaks for itself.
